Despite the fact that the pandemic is still wreaking havoc and uncertainty around the globe, our electives program has returned with a new format fit for the COVID-era.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Essential

    • access to reliable internet signal and laptop

    • familiar with Excel & Word software

    • enrolment in medical or other healthcare professionals’ course

    • fluent in oral & written English

    • reasonable speed of typing

  • Desirable

    • additional language skills

    • competent in Excel & Word software

EXPERIENCE

  • Essential

    • team working

    • clinical administration

    • lone working

HEALTH & SAFETY

  • Essential

    • Disclosure and Barring Service enhanced clearance within the last year

    • psychologically suitable to work with offenders including alleged sex offenders

    • willing to undergo in-house induction training

  • Desirable

    • no health problems limiting ability to perform two-hour online clinics

    • no history of significant post-traumatic stress disorder or vicarious trauma

    • available for at least three weeks, though two weeks will be considered in exceptional circumstances

Other student healthcare placements

Before the COVID-10 pandemic we welcomed occasional healthcare students wishing to be seconded to us in the Philippines for a particular placement - for example, community paediatrics and general practice.

Whilst we hope to return to offering these placements again in the future, at the moment applications are suspended until the course of the COVID-19 pandemic within the Philippines becomes clearer.
